Susan Jacoby, PhD, ACE, BRM
Certified Personal Trainer and Life Coach
Many of my clients are new to fitness and have never been inside a gym. More than a few are recovering from injuries or dealing with the aches and pains of life. And some have goals to lift more, go farther, or achieve something they never imagined possible.
I am an ACE certified trainer who regularly has clients say, “This really is fun,” “I don’t believe I just did that,” and “I feel so powerful.” I am also experienced working with clients experiencing chronic pain or recovering from injuries or surgery.
Growing up I didn’t play sports or exercise regularly. I began working out in my late 20’s as a commitment to myself. Though I knew nothing about the sport, I learned to row and became a competitive rower in my 40’s. Then I took up powerlifting, finding I had an affinity for “picking up really heavy things” (which led to a national deadlifting record in my 50s). Today you can find me at the gym or happily walking my dog (who regularly joins me for sessions).
