Strength Coach | Barbell-Based Training (Starting Strength Model)

I work primarily with adult lifters and barbell athletes, including those returning to training after injury, periods of inactivity, or chronic pain.

I coach using the simple and effective Starting Strength model, focusing on progressive barbell training to build strength, resilience, and long-term physical capacity. My background includes 10 years in public service as a paramedic firefighter, where I worked closely with individuals dealing with acute injury, chronic illness, and the long-term consequences of physical deconditioning.

In my experience, many people fall short of even baseline exercise recommendations, particularly when it comes to building and maintaining strength. This is often less about lack of effort and more about a lack of clear guidance and coordination between healthcare and qualified strength coaches. My goal is to help bridge that gap by providing structured, measurable training and collaborating with clinicians, whenever possible, to support better long-term outcomes.

Beyond helping clients get stronger, I emphasize self-sufficiency in the gym, consistency through small group coaching in Hood River, Oregon or virtual programming, and a balanced, sustainable approach to health and performance.
